Palestine, Human Rights Atrocities & Genocide Perpetrated by Israel

As a Lebanese woman and social worker grounded in human rights and anti-oppressive practice, I cannot sit by and watch Israel commit genocide on the Palestinian people without using my voice. For over 30 years, I have been engaged in advocating for Palestinian human rights, witnessing decades of systemic apartheid, injustice, and egregious breaches of international law by Israel. Over the past year, I have observed the unfolding genocide against Palestinians, a calculated and devastating campaign that has resulted in the loss of countless lives and the destruction of entire communities. Despite these atrocities, Israel continues to act with impunity, shielded from accountability and emboldened by a lack of meaningful international intervention. Families in Palestine and beyond, including in Lebanon, have endured unimaginable suffering under these relentless assaults by Israel.

It is imperative to amplify Palestinian voices and bring their lived experiences to the forefront of global awareness. Follow Palestinian accounts on social media as a start. Confronting the reality of this genocide requires education, and action. As social workers we must challenge systemic oppression and demand justice for Palestine.
